We recently wrote an  &lt;a href="http://brainblogger.com/2008/06/13/medicine-and-the-law-part-4-informed-consent/" rel="nofollow"&gt;article&lt;/a&gt; on informed consent at &lt;a href="http://brainblogger.com/" rel="nofollow"&gt;Brain Blogger&lt;/a&gt;. Failure to obtain informed consent is a leading cause in malpractice claims. When a patient cannot understand what's happening, things can especially get tricky.
